Pamela Wible . . . YES!
I started reading Pamela’s new book, hoping, with my schedule, to finish it in two weeks. As soon as I began reading the book, I couldn’t put it down. For the first time in forty-five years, I have found a physician who has explored the practice of medicine as I have. Thank you, Pamela, for being a living example of possibility.
In 2008, Pamela and I met over the subject of designing health care delivery systems. In 2009, we invited her to present at our Thinking Outside the Box conference. We wanted people at our event who are hungering for a fun, enchanting way to practice medicine, and Pamela is this kind of person.
Pet Goats & Pap Smears presents stories of sweetness in the practice of medicine. Pamela’s stories are so delicious, you want to be a doctor. I will now recommend this book to all students of health care at any level. Pamela says relax, love your patients, experience friendship and play, listen with every cell of your body, be vulnerable and interested, and see the clear richness of life all along the way. Yes! I can’t wait until our hospital is built, so Pamela can play doctor with us.
Please, reader, if you create your ideal medical practice, make it like this. The practice of medicine is one of love’s dances. Dr. Wible lays it out here, the gold mine (mind) of medicine. Be the doctor you always dreamed of being. Practice medicine exactly as you choose. You decide. This book is a decide guide. Dive in! Whee!
